Carbo 940 , used for jelly gel formation, can be used as an excellent floating agent, stabilizer, emulsifier, pharmaceutical excipient matrix, and is also a very effective water-soluble thickener. The 0.5% addition amount can produce a jelly-like gel, which is slightly acidic. The pH value of the 0.5% water dispersion is 2.7-3.5 . The disadvantage is that the colloid becomes liquid when it encounters acid or salt.

Carbo940 is the main raw material for making various gels, that is, it is used for the formation of jelly gel, suitable for making creams, lotions, gels, etc. It is also the main material for making waterless hand sanitizer, hair gel, essence, and ice crystals.

Triethanolamine 10ml included

Recommended dosage: 0.3-0.5% for gel making, 0.5-1% for facial mask.

1) Carbohydrate must be used together with the alkaloid triethanolamine at a ratio of 1:1 to form a solid gel texture.
2 ) It is not resistant to acids, electrolytes, salts and other substances. It will decompose into water when exposed to salt or acidity.

2% carbomer gel ( 50g):

1. Weigh 1g of carbomer dry powder into a dry beaker with a scale of 50ml . If there are any lumps, crush them with a spoon.

2. Add 47.5ml of purified water and stir while adding so that the carbomer can fully absorb water and swell. This step is very critical. The carbomer must fully absorb water. Generally, after adding water and stirring, leave it for a few hours before the carbomer can fully dissolve. If you want to speed up the process, you can heat it in a water bath. It will be faster while stirring while heating. Of course, even heating can speed up the process of carbomer absorbing water and swelling, and it will still take 10 to 30 minutes.

3. Add triethanolamine dropwise with a dropper, stir while adding, and measure the pH value. When the pH is adjusted to 7 , the gel can be used safely.

The prepared gel base can be directly used with other raw materials to prepare various gel products. As long as the concentration of carboxylate is controlled within 0.8% , it is recommended that it be around 0.5% .
